Cyber Love...Not that kind.

In an interview with NewScientist, Creative Director of Lionhead Studios, Peter Molyneux (featured in the video above) said "I've felt what it feels like to be hated by things in a computer game, countless times. I've felt the emotion of wanting to kill things and destroy things, but what about caring for something?"

Love. There it is again. In a videogame. People get bored with the mindless violence. What's more interesting? Love.

carman, that was fascinating. isn't it intersting how people come to the realization that Love is the higest possibility as a living reality - greater than hate and destruction. plenty to chew on from that clip! thanks.

Yeah, I thought it was amazing. It makes you wonder what the future will hold if stuff like that is just getting started.

Carman, I found it so interesting that they decided to use a dog to create those feelings of unconditional love. How perfect. Also, I noticed the game developer saying that he purposely decided not to let the game character control the animal at all. I don't think when we control something we can truly love it - just as we can't truly love someone who controls us. Love and freedom must always go hand in hand, do you think?

Most definitely. It'll be interesting to see how people unknowing to the whole dog thing will react to the game. Even little things like these can make changes.

anyway... i'm not much into videogames, but i can see this being such a HUGE step in the right direction.... just that statement alone, "but what about caring for something..." yes... that's the key. that will turn things around right there, yes???? very very cool....

Yes, Mr. Molyneux is a brilliant man, not just at making videogames, either xD.

Also, I think that we should speak with English accents anyway. Who cares what everyone else thinks xD.
