(Love/God speaking to us....)
Don't go anywhere without me. Let nothing happen in the sky apart from me, or on the ground, in this world or that world, without my being in its happening. Vision, see nothing I don't see. Language, say nothing. The way the night knows itself with the moon, be that with me. Be the rose nearest to the thorn that I am.
I want to feel myself in you when you taste food, in the arc of your mallet when you work, when you visit friends, when you go up on the roof by yourself at night.
(rumi/us to Love/God)
There's nothing worse than to walk out along the street without you. I don't know where I'm going. You're the road, and the knower of roads, more than maps, more than love.

I like this. I need to read some Rumi. :)
I'm going to have to rumi-nate on that a while :-)
Seriously, I love Rumi, too. I subscribe to a couple feeds of Rumi's writings.
Rumi-nate - I love that Erin. Im going to use that!
A 12th century sufi poet (Muslim) writes lovingly about Jesus and Mary, all sorts of stuff. I am a great fan, but only familiar with Coleman Barks translations.
One of my favorites he titles "Jesus is Here wanting to Resurrect Someone"
Marilyn, some of his writing can be raw, to put it nicely. Not necessarily for your grandmother's ears.
All in all, IMHO, he is one of the world's greatest lovers of the Beloved, and has taught me a lot about the nature of God/Love.
Peace
Have a wonderful Monday.

Oh, and I changed the title...After reading this poem the first time, I wrote a sticky "take me with you everywhere you go"
and I keep it with me.
It is really "In the Arc of Your Mallet"
