Okay, so you don't really have to watch the little animation thing, but rather just listen to the song. The title is "True Love Will Find You in the End", by Daniel Johnston, an artist popular amongst the indie and folk scenes. He's bipolar, lives with his parents in Waller, Texas, and his music has been covered by over 150 popular artists, inspiring even more. He's most well known for his amazing songwriting ability and the rawness of his performances (he's not a great singer or guitar player). In the past week or so, this song has been stuck in my head. I decided to look up the lyrics -

True love will find you in the end
You'll find out just who was your friend
Don't be sad, I know you will,
But dont give up until
True love will find you in the end
This is a promise with a catch
Only if you're looking can it find you
‘Cause true love is searching too
But how can it recognize you
Unless you step out into the light?
Don't be sad i know you will
But don’t give up until
True love finds you in the end.

"Only if you're looking can it find you/'Cause true love is searching too". I think that this talking about how we often overlook Love. It can be easy to focus on the negative. A lot of the time there's so much Love around us and we don't even notice. We've got to look for that; step out into the light.

"Only if you're looking...." Sometimes we get caught up in thinking that love will serve us, come to us because it is magical. The magic is really in us to allow ourselves to be loved. To be open to love in another suit of clothes or in another place than what we are expecting. Once in a while, though, I do wish it would just come walking up, knocking on the door.

great video and song. what it make me think is how we often look for someone or something outside ourselves to provide Love, when Love's presence was within us all the time and offering itself to us.

i like that darla..."explore the day"...it reminded me of the need to enter each day with a certain openness, and grateful for it as a gift.

Kendra and Jim - I agree completely. Sometimes the best place to look for Love is in ourselves.

Darla, it was my pleasure to post this. I'd just watched a documentary about Mr. Johnston, and I heard that song and it stuck in my brain. I'm really glad you enjoyed it, I think he's amazing.

Carman, I love that line about "step out into the light". When our minds, hearts and hands step into the light, ready to receive Love, there it is.

OH MY! That is so .... well that was basically my next blog ...about God pursuing us. ."true Love will find you in the end" "only if you are looking" ....Who is pursuing who sort of thing.

I love the "kiss" at the end of the video. The guy gets a kiss and then sort of eats it. (consumes it! -
like Communion in a way)

Awesome Carman! While different in presentation and some of the message, the bottom line was basically my next post too! Darla gave me a great photo to go with a similar message and we can move this theme along some - among other things ofcourse. :o)

Peace and Love to All
