perhaps you've been noticing that each week we select a picture from out TLIO flickr group to display on our site in the "Gallery" section. beginning this week, each Monday we are going to present that pic on the blog. we hope these images of Love stimulate an awarness of Love within ourselves, and inspire us to be Love. feel free to comment on how each week's picture is meaningful to you. this week's pic by conceptvessel originally included the below quote:
"That which we acquire by contemplation we should spend in love."

i thought the picture and quote uniquely captured the "turn love inside out" mindset. we discover Love's presence within us, which is perhaps the contemplative side. but then we convert that discovery into a gift to the world. the hands in the picture seemed to remind me how a spiritual reality such as Love is extended to others in practical, daily, "hands-on" ways.
For me, the turned up palms represent openness and surrendering to love. The open hands also remind me of offering love. Yesterday in church I sat next to a precious friend of mine who has gone through a deep time of sorrow. I turned to her and said, "I love you so much", and as I spoke those words I was filled with a love so strong my body felt electrified - as though I could move mountains or change the world. Love is transforming me.
To me it depicts one's openness to receiving through the "veil"... feeling a soft whisper, carrying an intricate message.
I am also reminded of the henna tattoos Hindu ladies apply to their hands for celebrations - particuarly weddings. They are thought to bring good fortune.
