God's Directions

For several years. I lived with chronic back pain. I've undergone treatment and have been feeling much better...until Tuesday when a "flare up" began. This morning after attempting to sit down, I just blurted out, "Wow, it hurts so bad."

My five year old son, walked to me and patted my side. He said tenderly, "That will help you feel better." I replied, "You're so filled with love."

Without skipping a beat, he smiled and blurted out, "That's God's directions!"

"Out of the mouths of babes". :) How wonderful to have a young one who displays such empathy and compassion at a tender age, and who already recognizes that God is Love. Your story just filled me with tenderness and love reading it. And welcome, Kevin - I'm so glad you're here!

so often my eight-year-old daughter Jessica stimulates my awareness of Love's presence within me. she wrote a little letter to a neighbor, Judie, and part of it said, "Be love. Judie is love."

thanks kevin for the reminder that i need to keep my eyes, ears and heart open.

Kevin, what a sweet kid you have. My Him has back pain so I know what you are talking about.

Jesus mentions being like a child is the way to the "kingdom". Kids seem to be naturally compassionate when needed. Their little faces filled with reverence and care - compassion - regarding the situation.

I went to a seminar this morning and Rev. Ron Rolheiser, OMI was the keynote speaker. (wow!)

Part of his talk with regard to being "ministers" included the scripture, "being perfect like your Heavanly Father is perfect" He said the Hebrew word "perfection" is very close to the word for "compassion".

Peace to all.

Hi everyone,
Isn't it amazing when we run across love unexpectedly? It's so easy (at least for me) to get caught up in "theoretical" conversations of love. But to experience it in action makes me slow down and appreciate the beauty of it all.

I learn more from my children than from any other source. Gotta remember to stay alert.

BTW, I love connecting perfection and compassion. What a brilliant revelation. Thanks.

Blessings,
Kevin

Children have a sort of purity.

Mine ask me ¨why?¨ They make me search for the real answers.

Kevin . . . it is so cool you are participating here. You belong.

May GodÅ› love move us all.
