Lenten Journey through the Spiritual Alphabet
Psalm 119, Sustainable Love
Heth (part 1)
My portion is the LORD;
I promise to keep your words.
I entreat you with all my heart:
have mercy on me in accord with your promise.
I have examined my ways
and turned my steps to your decrees.
I am prompt, I do not hesitate
in keeping your commands.
Though the snares of the wicked surround me,
your teaching I do not forget.
*****
I am silhouetted from the desert floor.
One side facing light, One side facing shadow.
Which side of me do you see?
You take away the sin of the world.
Have mercy on us, have mercy on me.
You are all I need.
Fill me, give me dimension.
I go on to sin no more.
Thank You for teaching them why
they could not stone me.
